Yes - 'Soon' section rehearsal run

I've been working on recording a one-take cover of Gates of Delirium by Yes lately, recording rehearsal runs in case I accidentally get "the" take. I went through the "Soon" section yesterday morning and it turned out pretty great, so I thought I'd share! I'll be borrowing a cam to take better footage for the final thing (and maybe still use the cellphone to take a second angle?).

Trying to emulate Chris Squire's tone and phrasing, even though I'm not playing a Rickenbacker, is a fun challenge - catching on which string the lines are played, the approach to some lines, when/how to end notes, etc. It's going to be more evident in the other sections of the song as, for example, here the playing is mostly very smooth so Squire's typical Rick growl isn't so prevalent. I'm also noticing some very cool things in how the bass line was composed that I might annotate as text in during the final video; without deeply analyzing the thing, probably mostly anecdotal "Hey did you ever notice this cool thing" cues. Anyway, the rest is coming soon-ish!
