Laura Perrudin - Diurnal Fireflies
I've been working on a couple of tracks in parallel in the last few days, but I ended up picking a lot of pretty challenging parts to learn and get in shape and I've been frustratingly hitting walls constantly, so I needed something a bit more chill to relax (after all, that's one of the reasons I play music!) - and I've been looking for a track from Laura Perrudin to adapt to bass guitar for a while, so here is my morning jam to one of her tracks! Sorry for the morning light blast and the pyjama pants but that's how I roll today 😛
The track is fairly smooth and simple, but it has some structural twists and alot of interesting harmonies. Also, a good opportunity to pay attention to fretless intonation (those octaves...!) and note lengths and pauses (which I haven't nailed 100% - try to spot the places I missed the mark!).
Laura Perrudin is a fantastic composer, harpist and singer. She's been on a fascinating artistic path and plays a unique custom electric chromatic harp. One of my favorite musicians as of late!
